Fastest Qualifier Mira Teresa Returns to Win G.C.F.A. Maiden Challenge

FREDRICKSBURG, TX—JULY 17, 2016-Fastest qualifier Mira Teresa raced to her third consecutive win Sunday when she dominated the $21,948 G.C.F.A. Maiden Challenge (not black type) by defeating Sendero Six by one-length at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. Scr Ima Shazoom finished a half-length back in third.

Ridden by jockey Ignacio Bustamante, Mira Teresa completed her 350 yard task in :18.319 seconds, into a 10 mph headwind, to pocket the winner's check worth $10,096. The winner's purse boosted her career total to more than $15,000.

Manuel Roman saddled the daughter of multiple stakes sire Rock Solid Jess, out of Alibi For Okey by Okey Dokey Dale, for owner/breeder Jose Rodriguez.

Sendero Six, a son of All American Futurity(G1) sire Brookstone Bay, got a clean trip under jockey Juan Francisco Garcia, Jr. to pickup the runner-up check totaling $4,390. Brian Stroud conditions the Texas homebred for owner/breeders Alan and Tawn Perkins. The colt is out of Tear Drop Six, by Sixarun.

Scr Ima Shazoom bobbled the start under jockey Cipriano Vidana but recovered nicely to finish third for owner/breeder Armando Davalos IV. Belinda Perez saddled the Shazoom gelding out Ima Corona Lite, by Special Fly Bye.

Im Your Queen, Gloria Lou Shine, Your Linus, Firstdown Apollo, Por Amor, First Johnnyfootball and Tres Seis Zoe completed the field.
