AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION—DECEMBER 20, 2016—The American Quarter Horse Association expects to release the 2017 Bank of America Racing Challenge regional race schedule on January 15.
"We set a deadline for tracks to submit their requests by December 15 and were pleased with the timely responses received," said Janet VanBebber, AQHA chief racing officer. “We are excited about the 2017 regional races and feel that our recent success in the 2016 Challenge Championships has bolstered our membership’s support of the program.”
AQHA racing officials are currently reviewing the amount of added money requested to build the challenge regional purses and will submit it to the AQHA Racing Council within the next couple of weeks for final approval.
In addition, the Association is also finalizing negotiations with the 2017 AQHA Bank of America Challenge Championship Night host track and expects to make that location announcement soon.
