FARGO, ND—JULY 16, 2017—Multiple stakes winner Hastabealeader was the best on Sunday when he defeated Catcha Breeze in the $10,200 North Dakota Horse Park AQHA Bonus Challenge (not black type). Heza Prospect finished one-length back in third.
Ridden by jockey Anseimo Padilla, Hastabealeader covered the 400 yards in :20.660 seconds to pocket the winner's purse of $5,100.
Robert Don Johnson trains the 7-year-old Hasta Be Fast gelding for owner John G. Johnson. Bred in Wyoming by Wardell Quarter Horses, Hasta Be Fast has compiled a (40) 11-10-8 record and banked $118,543. He is out of the Special Leader mare Leadmetoyourladder.
Runner-up Catcha Breeze is a Texas-bred daughter of Ivory James racing for owners Randy and Sharlene Reuer. Also, trained by Sharlene, the 5-year-old mare, out of Jess Jane by Mr Jess Perry, earned $2,448 for her effort.
Stakes winner Heza Prospect earned $1,428 for finishing third. Jason Olmstead conditions the 3-year-old son of champion Prospect To The Top for owner Leon Glasser. Jake Olesiak had the riding call aboard last year's North Central QHRA Futurity winner. Out of the Rare News mare Little Love Affair, Heza Prospect is bred by Karen Glasser.
One Dashing Peach, Justa Bump and Chicks Skidoo completed the field.
