AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 3, 2017—One Famous Glass rolled to a half-length win Sunday over stablemate Country Boy 123 in the $40,948(US) Bank of America Ajax Championship Challenge at Ajax Downs. Fast Man Vic finished another half-a-length back in third.
Ridden by jockey Tony Phillips, One Famous Glass scored his 17th career win while pocketing the winners' purse of $22,652(US). No time was available for the 440 yards.
Bryn Robertson conditions the multiple stakes winning son of One Famous Eagle for Carol Robertson Jaime Robertson and Dr. Charles Hall.
Bred by Burnett Ranches LLC, One Famous Glass is out of the Royal Quick Dash mare Quick Glass. He has earned $247,267.
Sunday's win also garnered One Famous Glass a starting spot in the $330,000 Guaranteed Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Prairie Meadows October 14th.
Country Boy 123 is a son of Country Chicks Man from the Dash Thru Traffic mare Very Dashin 123. Also trained by Robertson, the 4-year-old gelding is owned by Ruth Barbour. Bred by Carolyn Bay the multiple stakes winner picked up $10,019(US) for the effort. Cory Spataro had the riding call.
Greg Watson saddled third-place finisher Fast Man Vic for owner Full Circle Racing. Julian Serrano rode the Mighty Invictus gelding out of Precious Debutante by Heza Fast Man. Bred in Texas by Walter Dick Harrison, the multiple stakes winner earned $5,010(US).
Famous Bank finished fourth. Its Sweet Tobe First was scratched.
