Love To Reason Br Rallies In Sun Downs Distaff Challenge

KENNEWICK, WA—MAY 6, 2018—Love To Reason Br rallied to defeat posttime favorite and fastest qualifier Tickle Ur Fancy by a neck in the $25,110 Sun Downs Distaff Challenge Sunday afternoon in Kennewick, Washington.

Ridden by jockey Jose Figueroa, Love To Reason Br snapped Tickle Ur Fancy's five-race win streak by completing the 400 yards in :19.884 seconds, a 106 speed index.

Trainer Jose Rosales saddled the three-time winner for owner Mario Hurtado. The California-bred daughter of champion Good Reason Sa it out of the Strawfly Special mare Strength In Numbers. Bred by Benny Rossett, Love To Reason Br picked up $11,551 to boost her career earning past $25,000.

Multiple stakes winner Tickle Ur Fancy put in a game effort under jockey Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa to pick up $5,022 for second. Trainer Hector Magallanes conditions the 13-time winning daughter of Dominyun for owner Hayden Brothers Ranch.

Bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox, the bay 5-year-old is out of Sizzlng Lola by First Down Dash. She has earned nearly $90,000.

Love To Reason Br and Tickle Ur Fancy will each earn an invite to the Grade 1 $100,000-est. Distaff Challenge Championship during the Bank of America Challenge Championships November 18 at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Precious Dominique, a 4-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Foose, was another head back in the blanket finish to take third. Also from the stable of Jose Rosales, Precious Dominique was ridden by jockey Armando Cervantes.

Adrian Gonzalez and Atilano Gonzalez own the California-bred filly out of Dash For Kate by First Down Dash. She earned $2,511 to bring her earnings to $41,840.

Completing the field were Toughie, Separate Flame, Kissin Kate Barlow, Tic Tac Attack, Gone Fast, Klassic Secret Br and Mps Mamou Jewels.
