Rob That Wagon Wins Fourth Straight With John Deere Sandy Juvenile Challenge Victory

IDAHO FALLS, ID—JULY 20, 2018—Rob That Wagon, under jockey Nikeela Black, held off Jess Send It to win the $48,960 John Deere Sandy Juvenile Challenge Friday night at Sandy Downs. It was the fourth consecutive win for the 2-yer-old son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon.

From the barn of leading trainer Mark Hanson, Rob That Wagon covered the 350 yards in :17.355 seconds, into a 5 mph headwind, to earn a 103 speed index and pocket a winners' check worth $22,521.

Owned by the partnership of Robin Dunn and RTM Stables LLC, Rob That Wagon also won the Bitterroot Futurity two races back. Bob and Jerry Gaston bred the brown gelding in Texas from the First Down Dash mare First Tea Rose. He has compiled a (6) 4-1-0 record and banked $61,313 this season.

Both Rob That Wagon and runner-up Jess Send It also earned starting spots in the $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) to be contested Saturday, November 17th during the Bank of America Challenge Championships at Los Alamitos Race Course.

Jess Send It stumbled at break, but recovered nicely, under jockey Jesus Valenzuela to just miss the win. The daughter of leading living sire Corona Cartel was also awarded a 103 speed index.

Trainer Riley Moosman conditions the Utah-bred filly for owner Keith Nielson. Turner Farms bred Jess Send It from the Feature Mr Jess mare Jess Send Me. Winner of the Hadley/Giles Futurity in May, Jess Send It picked up $9,792 for the effort to bring her total earnings to $41,294.

Fames Prize Stone finished 1-¾ lengths back to earn $4,896 for third. Monty Arrossa saddled the Idaho homebred son of First Prize Stone for owner/breeders Gary and Jeralyn Messenger. Cordarelton Benn rode the sorrel filly out of Go For Fame by Floyd de Great. Third in the Bitterroot Futurity and a winner at Los Alamitos Race Course this season, Fames Prize Stone has banked $19,641 in six career starts.

Bo Jaxon, Louisiana Ez, Estelline, Silver Jet Dash, Darkmoon Deluxe and Hot Lil Leesa completed the field.
