LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 8, 2018— Los Alamitos Race Course has been a home away from home for Duck Dash N Go, the talented multiple stakes winner owned by Vicente Treyes of Jerome, Idaho.

After competing at four different racetracks to kick off her racing career, the 4-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare by Corona Fast Dash has called Los Alamitos home for most of the past 2 1/2 years.

During that span, 13 of her last 17 starts have come at Los Alamitos and the results suggest that she’s enjoyed her Orange County stay. Duck Dash N Go has appeared in eight stakes races and has won three of those races while at Los Alamitos. She’s also visited the winner’s circle two other times here, all while reaching Grade 1 level stature when racing in the Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap.

Following her wins in the Rebs Little Lulu Handicap and A Ransom Handicap last year and the Independence Day Handicap a month ago, Duck Dash N Go will look to score her most important win yet, as she’ll lead a field of eight distaffers in the running of the Merial California Distaff Challenge at 400 yards on Sunday night.

The top two finishers in this race will advance to the Grade 1 Merial Distaff Challenge to be held here on Saturday, November 17.

Jesus Rios Ayala will ride Duck Dash N Go from post number six for trainer Monty Arrossa. First post for the nine-race card is 6:35 p.m.

Johnny Trotter’s One Sweet Racy is the richest mare in this field with earnings of $291,178. She earned a large portion of that figure when finishing second to Hold Air Hostage in the All American Derby.

So far this year, One Sweet Racy has run second in the Decketta Stakes and third in the Junos Request Stakes - both held at Remington Park Trained locally by Chris O’Dell, the One Sweet Jess 4-year-old has carried her sharp Remington form to Los Alamitos, as she humbled rivals by daylight in an allowance test on July 6.

Kirk Goodfellow’s Staggering Stride, winner of the La Pacifica Handicap here last year, will also be part of this field. The late John Andreini bred the five-time winning Mr Jess Perry daughter who has earned $82,841.

Spackman Racing’s Maggie Durant, also multiple stakes winner by One Sweet Jess, won the Merial California regional here in 2016.

Completing the field will be stakes winners Start Somethin Bad and Precious Dominique and Grade 1 derby finalist One Hot Habit.
