ROCKY VIEW, ALB—SEPTEMBER 22, 2018—Multiple stakes winner Jd Wagon Boss broke sharp under jockey D. I. Benitez then drove to a one-length win over Toughie in the $9,902(US) Century Downs Bonus Challenge Stakes (not black type) Saturday afternoon.

Owned-and-trained by Buckey Stockwell, Jd Wagon Boss completed the 400 yards in :20.126 seconds into an 8 mph headwind on a showery muddy racecourse. He picked up $5,247(US) for the effort.

Bred in Oklahoma by Jean Dillard, the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon won the Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge last year before finishing second in the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) at Prairie Meadows in October. Out of the Fishers Dash mare Elly Mae, Jd Wagon Boss has compiled a (12) 5-2-3 record and earned $53,163.

Graded winner, runner-up Toughie races for owner Charles Stojan and trainer William Leech. Edward C. Allred bred the chestnut mare in California from the Hawkish mare Hard Living. The $2,575(US) runner-up purse boosted the 5-year-old's earnings total to $184,316. Ricardo Moreno had the riding call.

Also a graded winner, Cruisinfourabruisin finished a neck behind Toughie to earn $1,188(US) for thrid. A homebred son of leading Canadian sire First Timber, Cruisinfourabruisin races for owner/breeders Barry and Janice Sather. Trained by Janice and ridden by jockey Alejandro Hernandez, the 6-year-old has earned $163,676. He is out of the Royal Evening Snow mare Tagulator.

Knotty Knita and Honor The Fast Man completed the field.
