AQHA RACING—APRIL 15, 2021—During my 39 years as Los Alamitos announcer, I also thrived on handicapping Quarter Horse races while applying principles I had acquired during several prior years of watching video-tape replays while I was the co-owner of handicapping publication Quarter Horse Report.
Now retired from my announcing duties while continuing to provide Los Alamitos morning-line odds, I look forward to my handicapping contributions for the Bank of America Challenge program this year.
In an effort to provide key handicapping insights while promoting the Bank of America Racing Challenge races, I will be writing a weekly blog whenever regional challenge finals are presented.
While trying to offer handicapping ideas for each race, I will also be providing readers insight into various regional contests from areas where the top qualifiers advance to the Bank of America Challenge Championship finals at The Downs in Albuquerque on October 23.
In my weekly challenge blog, I will be looking at handicapping angles I have used for more than 40 years at Los Alamitos. I will break down the top contenders with explanations on such topics as video-tape trouble, track variance, speed figures and class. When applicable, I will suggest betting strategies on each race.
My first blog will be on the AQHA Racing Remington Distance Challenge at Remington Park on April 25.
