Deutsch Remains Perfect 3-for3, Sets Top Qualifying Time In John Deere PM Juvenile Challenge

Deutsch Remains Perfect 3-for3, Sets Top Qualifying Time In John Deere PM Juvenile Challenge

ALTOONA, IA—JULY 26, 2021—Deutsch, a son of leading second-crop sire of winners One Fabulous Eagle, raced to his third consecutive win in as many starts today (Monday) at Prairie Meadows, posting the top qualifying time for the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from two trials contested today, will return to the Iowa racecourse on Sunday August 15th to vie for the winners' share of a $52,210 purse. The win also includes a starting spot in the $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) October 23rd at The Downs in Albuquerque.

Under jockey Nik Goodwin, Deutsch rallied to a neck win over Nothin Like You to get the top qualifying time of :17.861 seconds, an 88 speed index into a 5 mph headwind for the 350 yards.

Bred-owned and trained by Patrick E. Swan, Deutsch broke his maiden on June 30th at Canterbury Park. He then won a 350 yard allowance there on July 15th, prior to shipping to Prairie Meadows. The Oklahoma homebred, from the Fredricksburg mare Hollie Jollie, has earned $24,720.

Curls Ivory Princess, under jockey Cristian Esqueda, picked up her second straight win in the opening trial to secure the second fastest time of :17,873, also an 88 speed index.

Stacy Charette-Hill conditions the daughter of Ivory James for owner-breeder Martin Stacy. Bred in Oklahoma from the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl Girl, Curls Ivory Princess broke her maiden at Prairie Meadows on June 25th. Prior to that she was third-twice at Remington Park and has earned $16,864.
