AUBURN, WA—JULY 29, 2021—Empowered To Prosper, a stakes-placed son of Kiss My Hocks, is one of 14 2-year-olds entered in Sunday’s 350-yard John Deere Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge trials.
Trained by Mark Hanson for owners RTM Stables LLC, Robin Dunn, Larry Chapple and Bryon Goody, Empowered To Prosper brings a two-race win streak into Sunday’s trials. The sorrel gelding and $24,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale placed third in the 330-yard, $71,000 Beehive Futurity (R) at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City.
Empowered To Prosper has earned $9,093 from four starts in Idaho and Utah. The gelding drew post 6 and will be ridden by Nakia Ramirez in the first of two trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from Sunday’s trials will meet in the August 22, $30,000-added John Deere Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge final.
