INDIANAPOLIS, IN–MARCH 14, 2022–The connections of distaff mares and fillies have even more to look forward to at Horseshoe Indiana (formerly known as Indiana Grand) this year, as the racetrack has added a regional Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge to its stakes schedule this summer.
The race was moved from its originally scheduled location at Sun Downs in Washington state.
Horseshoe Indianapolis, which is located in Shelbyville, Indiana, just outside Indianapolis, is also the host to the Bank of America Challenge Championships on October 23.
The racetrack will slot the race into a stakes schedule that provides a full fall schedule of opportunity for distaffers.
The $20,000-added Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge has trials scheduled for September 3, with the 400-yard final scheduled for September 22. The $400 nomination fee will be due July 1.
The race is preceded on the stakes schedule by the $75,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis Classic Stakes. The race, which is also a 400-yard race for fillies and mares, is August 11. Nominations for that race close June 1.
In October, the Bank of America Challenge Championships will host the Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship (G1), which last year was worth $106,500, as well as the Shelbyville Distaff Challenge Stakes, which last year was worth $40,000.
