POCATELLO, ID—JUNE 24, 2022—Conant Valley raced to his fourth consecutive win from four starts this season Friday night at Pocatello Downs, setting the fastest qualifying time for the Adequan Pocatello Derby Challenge.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Idaho racetrack on Friday, July 8th to vie for the winner's share of a $30,500-added purse going 400 yards.
Also at stake is a starting spot in the Grade 3 $150,000-est. Adequan Derby Challenge Championship to be contested October 22nd at Horseshoe Indianapolis during the Bank of American Challenge Championships.
Under jockey Jesus Valenzuela, Conant Valley was a wire-to-wire winner while recording the fastest qualifying time of :19.977 seconds, equaling a 96 speed index into a 20 mph crosswind.
Leading trainer Riley Moosman saddled the son of leading sire One Famous Eagle for owner Keith Nellesen.
Bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC from the G1 Quarter Horse producing Thoroughbred mare Cluster Of Starts, by Greeley's Galaxy, Conant Valley has won four of seven starts and earned $13,592.
