Freire Macedo Ready To Unveil Another Top Young Runner At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 19, 2017—Three weeks into the season 2-year-olds racing at Los Alamitos and few horsemen have had a bigger impact on this racing division than Paulo Otavio Freire MacEdo.

The Brazilian based horseman bred the promising Corona Cartel colt Coronated, which posted a daylight win in his debut here last weekend for owner Paul Blanchard.

Freire MacEdo has already raced three juveniles this month at Los Alamitos, a trio headed by the winner Magic Corona MV. His runners also include Luxor Of Appeals MV and King of Appeals MV, a pair of full brothers from the family of champion Good Reason SA.

The owner will unveil another good looking prospect on Friday night when he sends out Madam Of Fire MV in the evening’s fifth race for 2-year-old fillies. Sired by Walk Thru Fire, the homebred filly is out of the Los Alamitos stakes winner and 2015 Champion of Champions finalist Solid Connection. She’ll enter this race after posting the fifth fastest of 43 gate drills at 220 yards on March 28 for trainer Paul Jones.

Freire MacEdo’s Quarter Horse stock became even stronger last fall after he purchased the outstanding mare Take A Look at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale.

Madam Of Fire MV’s rivals will include Ed Allred’s Light Of The Moon, a Walk Thru Fire filly out of the stakes winner Moonlight Corona.
