Louisiana Laddie Futurity Trials Draw 114 State-Bred Colts and Geldings
Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) finalist Jrs Natural Runaway will be among 114 state-bred colts and geldings entered in Saturday’s Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

Louisiana Laddie Futurity Trials Draw 114 State-Bred Colts and Geldings

VINTON, LA—APRIL 25, 2017—A total of 114 2-year-old state-bred colts and geldings has been entered in Saturday’s Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

Post time for the first of 12 trials is set for 5:50 p.m. (CDT). The 10 fastest qualifiers from the 330-yard heats will meet in the May 20, $266,140 Louisiana Breeders’ Laddie Futurity final.

Jrs Natural Runaway, a gray son of Sir Runaway Dash trained by Jesus Garrido for Ricardo Castillo’s Triple C Racing Stables LLC, drew post 7 and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez in the first trial. Jrs Natural Runaway has earned $9,034 from two outs, and the gelding was a finalist in the 300-yard, $272,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) at Louisiana Downs on March 18.

Trainer Eusevio Huitron will send out Cash Cartel Policy for owner SF Racing & Enterprises LLC in the third heat. A son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Jess Elie, the brown colt made his debut with a neck victory at odds of 3-1 in a Mardi Gras Futurity trial on February 25. Cash Cartel Policy drew post 3 and will be ridden by Alfonso Lujan.

TG Toy drew post 7 and will be ridden by Jose A. Rodriguez in the seventh trial. A colt by the Some Dasher stallion Coup de Dasher trained by Guadalupe Tristan for Tomas Gutierrez’s TG Horse Racing LLC, TG Toy broke his maiden with a neck victory in a 220-yard, $10,000 maiden-special-weight dash on a muddy and sealed track at Louisiana Downs on March 7.
