TULSA, OK—JULY 25, 2017—I V Gone, a 7-year-old son of Ivory James owned and trained by Celesse Fregoso, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite for Friday’s 350-yard, $15,000 Rocky Heinzig Stakes at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.

I V Gone is coming off of a wire-to-wire neck victory in the 350-yard, $15,000 Golden Driller Stakes at Fair Meadows on June 18. The gelding has earned $17,878 from three outs this year, and his season resume includes a third-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Bodacious Eagle, in the 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G2) at Remington Park on March 12.

I V Gone drew the rail post and will be ridden by Cody Wainscott. The gelding’s nine opponents include Green D Ranch LLC’s Sexy And I Know It B, a 5-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding trained by Miguel Banuelos. A $15,000 claimer during the Remington Park meet, Sexy And I Know It B scored a clear 1 1/4-length victory in the 350-yard, $15,000 Fair Meadows Maturity on July 8.

Sexy And I Know It B drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jesus Salazar.

Walter Merrick Memorial Stakes

Rogelio Marquez Jr.’s Admiral Zoomwalt is one of six distance specialists entered in Friday’s 870-yard, $17,500 Walter Merrick Memorial Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds.

A 5-year-old son of Shazoom trained by John Weghorst, Admiral Zoomwalt has won four of his eight starts at the 870 distance, including the $15,000 Expo Square Stakes at Fair Meadows on June 24. The gelding’s resume includes a second-place finish, a head behind winner Eyesa Shoofly Dandy, in the April 6, $50,000 Pauls Valley Handicap (G3) at Remington Park.

Admiral Zoomwalt drew post 3 and will be ridden by James Flores.
