GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 14, 2017—A total of 105 2-year-olds has been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) trials at Lone Star Park.

Rancho Herradura LLC’s Sixes Flash, a sorrel son of Streakin Sixes trained by Erasmo Hernandez, will be stretching out in distance off of his neck victory at odds of 13-1 in the 350-yard, $274,000 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs on July 1. A $6,500 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the colt has earned $147,705 from six outs while racing exclusively in Louisiana.

Rolando Cabrera will ride Sixes Flash from post 7 in the last of 11 trials.

Jess Adalida, a sorrel filly by champion Jess Louisiana Blue, drew post 4 and will be ridden by Luciano Duenez in the third heat. Trained by Antonio Delgado Sr. for owner David L. Martinez, who acquired Jess Adalida for $10,500 at the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the filly is coming off of a Retama Park summer campaign during which she won both of her starts, including the August 12, $70,000 John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge Stakes.

Other prominent 2-year-olds entered in Saturday’s trials include Douglas L. Grenz’s Dashin Red Cat, a homebred Red Storm Cat gelding and the winner of the July 1, $96,000 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park, and Irma Z. Vargas’ Ja Am I Blue, a sorrel colt by Jess Louisiana Blue and the runner-up in the April 29, $484,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) in his most recent out.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the September 30, $450,000-est. Dash For Cash Futurity final.
