SHELBYVILLE, IN—SEPTEMBER 15, 2017—Stakes winners Keen Liaison and CB Come Fly With Me are among the two dozen Indiana-bred 3-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes trials at Indiana Grand.
A bay daughter of Sixes Liaison racing for James Black, Keen Liaison has won three of her four starts at Indiana Grand this season, including the 350-yard, $98,000 Harley Greene Derby (R) on June 3. The filly drew post 6 and will be ridden by Ronald Hisby for trainer Erin Thompson in the first of three trials.
CB Come Fly With Me is trained by Thompson for owner Carolyn Bruce. A homebred Desirio filly, CB Come Fly With Me is coming off of a wire-to-wire, half-length victory in the 400-yard, $126,000 Blue River Derby (R) for Indiana-breds on July 29.
CB Come Fly With Me drew post 4 and will be ridden by Rolando Pina in the second heat.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the September 30, $100,000-added Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes.
