Coming off a runner-up effort in the $317,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby(RG3), First Of 15, has been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Gopher State Derby trials at Canterbury Park.

SHAKOPEE, MN—MAY 25, 2018—A total of 26 3-year-olds, headed by Dick Tobin’s First Of 15, has been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Gopher State Derby trials at Canterbury Park.

A sorrel daughter of Apollitical Jess trained by Jason Olmstead, First Of 15 ships in from Oklahoma, where the filly ran second, 1 1/4 lengths behind winner DF AJ Green Leaves, in the 400-yard, $317,000 Remington Park Derby (RG3) for state-bred sophomores on April 21. First Of 15 drew the rail post and will be ridden by Cristian Esqueda in the first of three trials.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 9, $20,000-added Gopher State Derby final.
