Seven Tales is Morning-line Favorite for Oklahoma Futurity at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 17, 2020— The post positions for the Grade 2, $383,725 Oklahoma Futurity have been drawn. The 79th edition of American Quarter Horse Racing’s longest-running futurity is this Saturday night at Remington Park.

Seven Tales put up a stellar time of :15.761 for 300 yards in the second Oklahoma Futurity trial on March 7 and the effort held up to give him the honors as top qualifier. Remington Park odds-maker Jerry Shottenkirk has made Seven Tales morning-line favorite status at 5-2 odds.

Seven Tales is a 2-year-old gelded son of Wagon Tales, out of the No Secrets Here mare La Seven Seven Seven. He was ridden in his trial by Agustin Silva who keeps the mount for the final. The bay gelding is owned by Paula Villatoro of Dallas and is conditioned by Mary Meza.

The Oklahoma Futurity headlines a stakes-laden evening of racing, including:

  • Race 5: Grade 1, $180,100 Oklahoma Paint/Appaloosa Futurity, 300 yards
  • Race 6: $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile, 300 yards
  • Race 7: Grade 3, $232,586 Oklahoma Derby, 350 yards
  • Race 9: Grade 2, $50,000 Eastex Stakes, 350 yards
  • Race 10: Grade 2, $50,000 Decketta Stakes, 350 yards <.ul>

    The historic Oklahoma Futurity was first contested in 1947. The edition on Saturday night will be the eighth of 10 races on the program. The first race is at 6pm with the Oklahoma Futurity scheduled for 9:09pm. All times are Central.

    Racing continues at Remington Park, Thursday through Sunday, March 19-22. The first race nightly is at 6pm with Sunday racing at 1:30pm. All times are Central.
