Multiple Graded stakes winner Mr Jess Jenkins will head five trials on Sunday for the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby(RG2).

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 3, 2020—Mr Jess Jenkins, a Grade 1-winning son of world champion Apollitical Jess, is one of 41 Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds entered in Sunday's 400-yard Remington Park Derby (RG2) trials at Remington Park.

Trained by Marcos Carrizales for owners Jose Ernesto Guzman and Rito Sosa, Mr Jess Jenkins ended his 2-year-old season with victories in the 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs, and the 440-yard, $150,000 Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship (G2) at Zia Park. The gelding has earned $1,576,180 from six outs.

Mr Jess Jenkins drew post 2 and will be ridden by James Flores in the first of five trials.

Other prominent entries include Fernweh, a sorrel daughter of the Favorite Trick (TB) stallion Favorite Cartel trained by Blane Wood for Rusty Allred. Fernweh has won both of her starts and has banked $424,800, and she will be making her first start since June 9, when she scored a head victory as the odds-on favorite in the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Fernweh drew post 5 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez in the second heat.

Trainer Adrian Huitron will send out Chilitos, a son of Apollitical Jess who will be making his first start of the season. Owned by Anna Paredes and Omar Paredes, the colt is coming off of a juvenile campaign during which he earned $421,528 from nine races and scored a neck victory in the 400-yard, 344,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park in October.

Chilitos drew post 7 and will be ridden by James Flores in the third trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday's Remington Park Derby trials will meet in the April 18, $275,000-est. final.
