Simmons Racing paid $208,000 for Hip 526, Crystal Sola, the high-seller in the second session of the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City on Friday.

Crystal Sola Tops Second Winter Mixed Session at $208,000

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JANUARY 23, 2015—Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale continued strong numbers after two sessions were completed Friday evening at the Oklahoma City facility.

The first two sessions sold 450 horses for $5,889,600. The two-day average is $13,088 and the median finished at $7,000. 51 head were marked as "Out" and 53 head did not reach their reserve.

Simmons Racing paid $208,000 for Friday's high-seller, Hip 526 Crystal Sola, by Walk Thru Fire. The Grade 3 winner of $215,914 was offered by 6666 Ranch Agent and sold with an embryo to leading sire One Famous Eagle.

JLS Speedhorse Ranch, Inc. paid $91,000 for Hip 442, Perfecto, a Check Him Out half-sister to champions Jumping Tac Flash and Splash Bac. Double LL Farms, Agent consigned the mare in-foal to leading sire First Moonflash.

Mia Corona, a half-sister to All American Derby(G1) winner Dont Let Down, brought a final bid of $90,000 from Paragon Farms. Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for Zory Kuzyk consigned the mare in-foal to all-time leading sire First Down Dash.

Through two sessions, Bobby D. Cox is the leading buyer with two purchases on Thursday for $300,000. Paragon Farms (Tom Lipar) has four purchases for $263,000 and Simmons Racing has the one mare mentioned above for $208,000.

Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent is the leading consignor and/or agent through two days with 36 head grossing $561,200. 6666 Ranch Agent has eight head totaling $464,000 and Marty Powers Agent, has eight head for $306,400.

First year sale crop sire world champion One Dashing Eagle leads all sires of short yearlings (by average with two or more sold) with four yearlings averaging $36,750. His sire One Famous Eagle has two head for $29,750 and Pyc Paint Your Wagon has four head averaging $25,750.

All-time leading sire First Down Dash leads the covering sires (by average with two or more sold) with two in-foal mares at $62,500. Mr Jess Perry has two in-foal mares for $59,500 and Corona Cartel has two in-foal mares averaging $56,000.

Saturday's final session will get underway promptly at 10:00 a.m. offering Hips 558 thru 835.
