Heritage Place Closes September Yearling Sale Saturday - UPDATED

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—SEPTEMBER 26, 2015—Heritage Place Sale Company ended their 2015 September yearling sale with a slight decrease following the final session on Saturday.

"We finished with a 6% decrease in the average (without the high-seller) over last year and we sold 84% of the horses offered," Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said Saturday night. "We want to thank all of our customers for their business and wish everyone much success on the prospects they purchased at the Yearling Sale. We look forward to another great group of horses for the Fall Mixed sale in just a few weeks," he added.

Over the three sessions 667 head were marked sold for a $10,708,100 gross and $15,817 average. The 2015 median price was $9,700.

Israel Putino paid $400,00 in the opening session Thursday for Jukebox Jess, a colt by first crop sire One Sweet Jess from the First Down Dash mare Jukebox Dash. DLT Ranch, Agent consigned the half-brother to Grade 2 Hobbs American Futurity winner The Crawfish.

Give Me A Good Reason Syndicate paid $175,000 for Friday's high-seller Giv Me A Good Reason from the Vista Equine Colorado, LLC, Agent for Bradbury, Bradbury and Beauprez. The son of 2015 All American Futurity sire is out of the G3 Mile High Futurity winner Forever Bradgelina, by Shazoom.

The partnership of David Brown, Zachary Landry, Stan Payne and Chip Wagner purchased Saturday's high-seller Charming Charlie for $137,000 from Sunflower Supply Company. The son of leading sire One Famous Eagle is out of the unraced First Down Dash mare First Down Racy, a half-sister to champion 3-year-od filly Miss Racy Jess.

Israel Patino led all buyers with the one purchase for $400,000. Ramon Vega bought 21 yearling for $381,000 and Double A Ranch paid $289,000 for eight head.

Burns Ranch, Agent led all consignors and agents with 24 head grossing $522,700. Lazy E Ranch, Agent sold 27 head for $482,000 and Sunflower Supply Company had 10 yearlings total $455,700. Lazy E Ranch, Agent for McColee Land & Livestock was also among the top ten consignors with nine head totaling $334,500.

The industry's top three leading sires were the top three sale sires of 2015 (by average with two or more sold). Corona Cartel was the leading sale sire with eight yearlings averaging $50,438. Mr Jess Perry had 18 head average $39,722 and First Down Dash had 13 head average $37,731.

One Dashing Eagle led the first-crop sale sires (by average with two or more sold) with 12 head averaging $23,125.
