PHOENIX, AZ—JANUARY 29, 2017—Ralph and Carolyn Fales homebred Hoot And Holler got her first career win with a neck effort over fastest qualifier Royal Quick Senator in the $10,700 Turf Paradise Maiden Stakes (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Turf Paradise. Mi Favorito finished a head behind in a blanket finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Jorge Bourdieu Hoot N Holler turned the table on Royal Quick Senator after finishing second to the gelding to in the January 15th trials. The Carters Cartel gelding completed the 300 yards today in :15.585 seconds to earn a 92-speed index.

Trainer Matthew Fales conditioned the Arizona homebred from the Walk Thru Fire mare Fly Thru Fire. He has compiled a (7) 1-1-1 record and the $5,350 winner's purse nearly doubled his earnings to total to almost $11,963.

Vince Guerra had the riding call aboard runner-up Royal Quick Senator for owner/trainer Laurie Ferguson. The Oklahoma-bred son of Louisiana Senator from the Royal Quick Dash mare Arbeka Bee Quick picked up $2,140 for the effort. Arthur Devereaux bred the brown gelding.

Arnulfo Alvarado Flores' Mi Favorito was squeezed at the start but recovered under jockey Emilio Tapia to earn $1,070 for third. Eloy Mendoza conditions the California bred son of Favorite Cartel out of Merry Corona by Corona Cartel. Steve D. Burns, DVM is the breeder.

Dejonaro, Dash For Secrets, Baja Cartel, K Kardashin, Hoot N Hollar and Load N Explode completed the field.
