Longshot Rock Princess Gives Johnson Two Wins Friday At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 24, 2017—Trainer Tammy Johnson saddled her first two winners of the 2017 American Quarter Horse Season at Remington Park on Friday. The second winner also posted the highest win payoff of the season.

Johnson was the first trainer to arrive with horses when the Remington Park barn area opened at the beginning of February. However, her early residency did not translate into quick victories at the start of the season.

Rock About It became Johnson’s first winner of the season in the eighth race on Friday when he was triumphant in a maiden event.

Then in race 10, Rock Princess pulled an upset in a 550-yard, $20,000-level optional claiming event. At 47-1 odds, Rock Princess won by a half-length and rewarded her fans with a $96.40 win payoff, the highest win price of the young season. She also paid $24.60 to place and $12.60 to show.

Both winners are by the multiple stakes sire Rock Solid Jess.

The 2017 American Quarter Horse Season at Remington Park continues Saturday and Sunday, March 25 & 26. Racing is underway at 6pm Saturday and at 1:30pm on Sunday.
