VINTON, LA—MAY 20, 2017—Slightly erratic down the stretch, Jls Dash N Fire rallied to get up at the wire by a head over Ima Gone Reba in the $266,140 LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2) Saturday night at Delta Downs. Tf El Whisky finished a nose back in the blanket finish to get the show position.

Ridden by jockey Noe Castaneda, the $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, raced over the 330 yards in :15.837 seconds, a 97 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

It was the second win in as many starts for the royally-bred son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash. The $133,070 Laddie winners' purse boosted his total earnings to just over $139,000. He entered the finals off the second fastest qualifying time in the April 29 trials.

On Friday night Heza Fast Dash also sired the winner of the record breaking $322,285 LQHBA Lassie Futurity(RG2), Dashunder Afullmon.

Leading trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. conditions Jls Dash N Fire for owner T M Ranch. Jls-Speed Horse Ranch, Inc. bred the black colt from their champion producing Osceola Warrior mare Psalmist.

Jls Dash N Fire is a half-brother to AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding Jls Mr Big Time, who kicked off his career in Louisiana as a 2-year-old before running second in the Grade 1 All American Futurity in 2010. He won 12 races and earned more than $1 million.

Jockey J.R. Ramirez had the riding call aboard runner-up Ima Gone Reba. Michel Taylor trains the $29,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate for owner Ten To Win LLC. Bred by Robert Touchet and Robicheaux Ranch, Inc., the son of multiple stakes sire Game Patriot is out of the Tres Seis mare Rebas In The House. Still a maiden in two starts, he earned $45,224 for the effort.

Owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. paid $42,000 for third-place finisher Tf El Whiskey at the 2016 LQHBA Yearling Sale. Armando Ramirez had the riding call aboard the Sir Runway Dash colt for trainer Martin Trejo. Out of the Toast To Dash mare Toast To Mallard, Tf El Whisky picked up $26,614. Gerald Patin and Curts Roy is the breeder.

Completing the field were Atimely Touch, Piloto Shiner, Ll Tee Boug, A Canadian Chill, Mr Coco Piloto and Sizzlin Blues.
