Seminole Senator Breaks Maiden, Wins $83,713 Four Corners Futurity

FARMINGTON, NM—JUNE 18, 2017—Seminole Senator jumped out to quick lead and held off a blanket finish from three other contenders to get his first career win in the $83,714 Four Corners Futurity Sunday afternoon at SunRay Park.

Ridden by jockey Felipe Garica-Luna, Seminole Senator completed the 350 yards in :17.425 seconds to earn a 92-speed index with a 10-mph tailwind. It was the first win in four starts the Justin Joiner trained Oklahoma-bred son of multiple stakes sire Louisiana Senator.

Joe David Yates, Richard Young, Richard Sturdevant and Terry Wootan own the bay gelding out of Overeasy Annie by Holland Ease. Bred by Wootan Racing, Seminole Senator boosted his earnings to $42,183 after pocketing a winners' check valued at $39,345.

Seminole Senator entered the race as the second fastest qualifier to Beyond 15, who clocked :17.168 seconds in the June 2nd trials. The daughter of Desirio never fired off the outside position today finishing fifth.

Bf Diversion got within a head of the winner but had to settle for $15,068 for second. Wesley Giles conditions the Utah homebred daughter of Winners Version for owner/breeder Birrell Farms. Cesar Gomez was aboard the sorrel filly out of Bf Divine Dynasty by FDD Dynasty. She has compiled a (4) 2-2-0 record.

Trainer Jimmy Guerra, Jr. saddled Mountain Home to her third-place finish for owner Eduardo Lugo. Curtis Crenwelge bred the daughter of Gone To The Mountain in Texas from the Royal Quick Dash mare Quick Way Holme. Ridden by Ruben Calderon, the gray filly earned $9,208 for her effort.

Completing the order-of-finish were Osbaldo Blue Diamond, Beyond 15, Fdd Can, Marissa, Ramble It On, Big Daddys Lajolla and A Diamond Mercedes.
