AURORA, CO—AUGUST 12, 2017Heading into the $30,000 Arapahoe Park Quarter Horse Derby, Movin the Doe had won his last two starts and three of his last four races, including the $24,000 Bitterroot Derby in June. With Jesus Osuna aboard, Movin The Doe earned another stakes win on Saturday, defeating a full field of 3-year-olds by nearly a length.
The winning pair came home in 19.590 for the 400-yard feature race and earned a 99 speed index. Movin the Doe ($17.20) is trained by Roberto Treto and is owned by Luis Gonzales.
Steve Berry bred the Maknmoves gelding in Utah, out of Bundle Doe by Hennessy. Movin the Doe has won eight of his 15 career starts and has earned over $84,000. Movin the Doe usually races at Turf Paradise and throughout the Intermountain region; this was his first appearance at Arapahoe.

Dauns First Desirio broke in sixth place but closed well to gain second over the course of the race with Ramiro Haro Garcia in the irons. The Desirio gelding is out of First Daun Express by First Down Express, bred in Texas by Dan and Jolene Urschel.
Trained by Eliazar Salas for owner Rogelio Carbajal Santos, Dauns First Desirio won the Smoky Hill Stakes at Arapahoe in June, his first start at the track. As a 2-year-old, Dauns First Desirio was no worse than third in five starts at Remington, Will Rogers and Ruidoso.
Live To Love Candy had the lead in the middle of the Derby, but acquiesced to Movin the Doe and Dauns First Desirio late in the stretch. He entered the Derby off a strong allowance win at 350 yards; this was only his second attempt at 400 yards.
The Oklahoma-bred gelding is owned by Santos Lopez and was bred by Carl Pevehouse. Live To Love Candy is by Cartels Candy Man, out of stakes winner Found a Candy Tree by Oak Tree Special.
Completing the field in the Arapahoe Park Derby were Copy My Daddy, Frenemy, Perkin Desire, Iza Captain, Newport Kid, Rarest Ivory and Pyc Dot Com.
