Second Down Leaving Stays Perfect 3-for-3, Gets Fastest Time In LQHBA Sale Futurity Trials

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 18, 2017—Eulalio Argote and Victor Alvarado 's Second Down Leaving scored this third consecutive win, in as many starts, Friday when he posted the fastest qualifying time for the restricted Grade 1 LQHBA Sale Futurity at Fair Grounds Racecourse.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from 10 trial races contested today, will return to the Fair Grounds on Saturday, September 9th to vie for the winners' share of a $297,200 purse going 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Manuel Gutierrez, the son of multiple stakes sire Coronas Leaving You completed the 350 yards in :17.393 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind.

The $26,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate is trained by Javier Noel Contreras. Grant Farms LLC bred the earner of $44,400 from the Mr Jess Perry mare Second Down Perry. He won the Louisiana Juvenile Stakes at Delta Downs in his last start on July 8.

Yumyumcomegetyousome got up in the fourth trial under jockey John Hamilton to post the second fastest time of :17.430 seconds, a 98-speed index.

Trainer Bruce Bell saddled the lightly raced daughter of multiple stakes sire Fast Prize Dash for owner Ten To Win, LLC. In her only previous start she was second in a trial for the LQHBA Lassie Futurity in April.

The Ten To Win partnership paid $8,000 at the LQHBA Yearling Sale for the filly out of Newport Lily by Stoli. Harold Jeanotte is the breeder.
