ROCK SPRINGS, WY—AUGUST 19, 2017—Owner-breeders A and C Racing and Roping, trainer Chancey Spencer and jockey Uriel Dominguez dominated five trials on Saturday at Sweetwater Downs for $90,000 Western States Breeders' Futurity.

The trio qualified the top three horses and A and C Racing & Roping bred another qualifier to the futurity.

Dominguez rode Skinny Kyni to an impressive 1-˝ length win the second trial to set the top mark of :17.246 seconds, a 105-speed index.

A & C Racing and Roping bred the sorrel daughter of multiple stakes sire Winners Version in Utah from the Streakin La Jolla mare Miss Mischievous. She entered the trials off a runner-up effort in the Bitterroot Futurity at Sandy Downs last June and has compiled a (4) 3-1-0 record and earned $22,285.

In the fourth trial Spencer sent out the royally bred Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt Running Your Wagon who won by one-length and posted the second fastest clocking of :17.267 seconds, a 104 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

A & C Racing and Roping's All American Futurity(G1) winner Runnning Brook Gal, by Brookestone Bay, is the dam of the brown colt that was making his third career start. Running Your Wagon has won two of three starts and was a finalist in the Giles/Hadley Memorial Futurity in May.

Uriel rode A & C Racing and Roping's third finalist, Shazzi, to a half-length win in the fourth trial to get the third fastest time of :17.339 seconds, a 102 speed index with a 5 mph crosswind. Spencer conditions the Winners Version filly out of Blue Birds Fly by Shazoom. Shazzi has won two of four starts.

The ten fastest qualifiers will return to Sweetwater Downs on Saturday, September 2nd to vie for the winner's share of the purse.
