Sixs Cb Mosby Upsets in Second Division of Bucking Horse Sale Futurity

MILES CITY, MT—MAY 19, 2018— Trainer Jesse Villegas trained the winning trio in the second of five divisions of the 300-yard $7,000 Bucking Horse Sale Futurity Overnight Stakes (not black-type), but with a slight upset in Sixs Cb Mosby ($11.20) on top.

Sixs Cb Mosby and jockey Gonzalo Valles, Jr. defeated post-time favorite Imperial Secrets by three-quarters of a length, finishing in 16.936.

The 2-year-old gelding is a homebred for Broken Bones Cattle Co. Sixs Cb Mosby was bred in Wyoming by Sixs Charlie Brown and out of Lil Cruzin Maple, by Romantic Cruz.

Though first-time starters comprised the entire field, Imperial Secrets and jockey Luis Peralta entered the gate as the heavy favorite. The pair led early and dueled with the winner before being passed near the wire.

The Utah-bred colt is owned by Hermosillo and Brenda Guzman. He was bred by Griselda Calderon, by Jazzin Secrets and out of the Chicks Beduino mare Note the Chick.

A neck behind Imperial Secrets was third-place finisher Wyoming Headliner and jockey Holly Gervais. Wyoming Headliner is a homebred for Gerald Kaul. The Wyoming-bred colt is a son of Brindis Por Cayenne and is out of the First Down Dash mare Dashetta Go.

In lieu of trials for the Bucking Horse Sale Futurity, Miles City split entries into five overnight stakes on Saturday and Sunday. Trials were originally scheduled but were canceled due to track conditions.

Completing the field was Brindis Secret Life. Tomanycoronaslasnite was scratched.
