Lota White Sox Gets Up In Cricket Bar Futurity

CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 15, 2018—Lota White Sox, under jockey Paul Nieto, got up by a nose over Teejus Livin in the $27,062 Cricket Bar Futurity for 2-year-old Appaloosas on Saturday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

Saddled by trainer Matthew McCart, Lota White Sox completed the 400 yards in :20.034 seconds to pick up the winner's share of the purse worth $8,881.

The son of leading second-crop sire Quarter Horse sire Lota Pyc races for owner/breeder E. Bruce Miller. Out of the Taylors Spotted Cash mare Dashing Susie, Lota White Sox has completed a (4) 2-1-0 record and banked $14,271 this season. He broke his maiden at Fair Meadows on July 22nd and has now won two straight races.

Runner-up Teejus Livin, a gelding by Cartel Success from the Whirling Fastball mare Boppin Js Fastball, picked up $5,796 for owner Joy Holder-Smith. Carlos Ruiz saddled with Roberto Meraz, Jr. riding.

Multiple stakes-placed Admiral Tom finished a neck back in the blanket finish to earn $3,478 for third. Luis Villafranco trains the Oklahoma home-bred for owner/breeder Gary Vaugh. The son of Red Storm Cat from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eyesa Knockout has earned nearly $83,000 this season.

Chasing Utah, Dilly Dally Dash, Indestructibull and Howdy Express completed the field. Flash Of Generous was scratched.
