FARGO, ND—JULY 20, 2019—Cowboywannab, under jockey Marcus Delorme, defeated Texas Eye by three-quarters in the $4,900 Rich Nevins Speed Stakes (not black type) Saturday at the North Dakota Horse Park.
Cole Wilson saddled the 4-year-old daughter of Cowboys Cartel for owner-breeder Tyrell R. Moody. Cowboywannab completed the 220 yards in :12.131 seconds, equaling a 91 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind.
The sorrel filly ran her record to (14) 4-4-2 and the $2,450 winners' purse boosted her bankroll to $10,812.
Texas Eye, a Tac It Like A Man gelding, earned $980 for second. Junior Dolphus saddled the 4-year-old for owner William Joe Geditz. Randal Schwartz is the breeder and Doug Frink had the riding call.
Choochoowannaboogie, a 3-year-old Oklahoma-bred son of Freighttrain B finished half-a-length back in third. Harley Moser owns the brown gelding out of Zoomin Affair by Shazoom. Bred by Lake and Ledona Newcomb, Choochoowannaboogie earned $588. Jake Olesiak was riding.
