Longshot J Boy A Wins Sunday Quarter Horse Feature At The Downs

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—AUGUST 9, 2019—J Boy A, a 6-year-old gelding owned and trained by Thomas Gonzales, outran his 13-1 odds to win Sunday’s $26,200 Quarter Horse allowance feature at Albuquerque Downs.

Ridden by Francisco Amparan, J Boy A covered 870 yards in :44.356, and his margin of victory was 1 1/2 lengths from Zoomin Racer. The Jess Zoomin gelding earned $15,720 from his first win in five starts this season.

J Boy A was bred by Ted G. Abrams of Houston, Texas, and he is a half-brother to Jess A Classy Lassy, the dam of two-time world champion Jessies First Down. Raced in four states, J Boy A has won five of 26 outs and has banked $92,384.

El Chirrionero ran third and was followed by 7-10 favorite Black Ops, TTY From Mr Pye, How Bout Dat, and CJs Rockhard N Ready.
