FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 11, 2019—Fastest qualifier Shake Em Lelo was an impressive half-length winner over Shes My Dashing Girl in the $37,000 G.C.F.A. 79 & Under Speed Index Futurity (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Gillespie County Fairground.
Ridden by jockey Victor Urieta, Jr., Shake Em Lelo covered the 330 yards in :16.976 seconds, earning a 91 speed index into an 8 mph headwind. The $12,950 winners' purse boosted the son of Shake Em Wizar's earnings total to $13,790. Joel Cantu conditions the Texas-bred out of Special Dashing Girl by Eyesa Special for owner-breeder Jose E. Cantu, Jr. The sorrel colt has compiled a perfect 2-for-2 record this season.
Runner-up Shes My Dashing Girl races for owner-breeder Eleazar Prez and is conditioned by trainer Jose Lopez. Noe Villatoro rode the daughter of multiple stakes sire Dashin Bye from the Prime Talent mare Threetimesthetalent. She earned $5,550 for the effort.
Lopez also saddled third-place finisher Texas Tornado Jet for owner Joseph Alvarez. The Three Ohs For Cash colt finished one-length back and collected $3,700 for the effort. Michaelene 'Mikie' Kuby bred Texas Tornado Jet in Texas from the Embrujo Fg mare Boudika. Claudio Aguilar was riding.
Make It Fancy, Incredible Hock, Th Drop Tine, Rebas Lil Eagle, Valiant Prospect and Jlc Shaking Eagle completed the field. Lg La Negra was scratched,
