Sheza Fearless Fire Dominates G.C.F.A. 79 & Under Speed Index Sprint

FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 11, 2019—Fastest qualifier Sheza Fearless Fire returned Sunday to defeat Jodys Political Pop by 2-¾ lengths in the $20,000 G.C.F.A. 79 & Under Speed Index Sprint (not black type) at the Gillespie County Fairground.

Ridden by jockey Heriberto Aguilar-Orozco, Sheza Fearless Fire rolled over the 330 yards in :16.986 seconds, equaling a 91 speed index into an 8 mph headwind. It was the second win from four career starts for the daughter of leading sire Tres Seis.

Jose Lopez saddled the sorrel filly for owner Valerie Moya, Bred in Nevada by William Nolan, Sheza Fearless Fire is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Fearless Fire. She earned $7,000 for the effort.

Janessa Muniz saddled runner-up Jodys Political Pop for owners Ronald and Roland Gonzalez. Alejandro Zuniga rode the Apollitical Jess filly out of the Jodys Special Pop by Jody O Toole. Bred by Gary and Pat Kurz, she earned $3,000.

Lbh El Jefe de Jefes finished a neck back in third to earn $2,000 for owner Fernando Arteaga. Manuel Vega, Jr. saddled the Make It Kimbo gelding with Luis Vivanco getting the riding call. The Texas homebred is out of Chickemshake by Royal Shake Em.

Peach Fool Of Dash, Charles First Angel, Shoot For Glory Dash, La Zoomita, Little Hainita, Tee Isabelle and Such A Surprise completed the field.
