CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 22, 2019—With two wins in two starts, Mr Dillard is the undefeated winner of Sunday’s feature race at Will Rogers, the $252,876 Black Gold 350 Championship Futurity.
Mr Dillard ($10.40) and jockey Cody Smith covered the 350 yards in 17.555 and earned a 96 speed index.
The lightly raced 2-year-old son of Hes Relentless debuted in his trial for the Black Gold and was the third fastest qualifier from eight trials on September 7. The Black Gold 350 Championship Futurity is restricted to horses sired by participating stallions.
Mr Dillard hails from the barn of Sam Howard and he is owned and bred by L Hendrix Horses in Oklahoma, out of Quions, by Spit Curl Jess.
The second favorite in the final, Mr Dillard narrowly defeated post-time favorite Shaunda Got a Prize in their trial.

Longshot Hot Pyc Chic was second at odds of 20-1 with Mario Delgado aboard. The Lota Pyc filly was second in her trial behind Lakshmi J and was the sixth fastest qualifier.
Gerald Reed trains Hot Pyc Chic and co-owns the filly with Whiting Ranch. She was bred in Oklahoma by Reed Land and Cattle Company, out of the Corona Caliente mare Dm Hot Hot Hot.
Hot Pyc Chic debuted and broke her maiden in a futurity trial at Remington; until Sunday, each of her four previous starts had been in trial races. She has only finished out of the money once in five races.
Relentless Doll and Andrew Samaniego completed the trifecta. The eighth fastest qualifier to the final, the Hes Relentless gelding was second in his trial.
Relentless Doll is trained by Rick Robinson for owners Buckskin EC Inc. He was bred in Oklahoma by Buddy Albin, out of Lil Miss Party Doll, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon.
Completing the field were Uncle Eds Idea, Wagons Dash, Cajun King, Lakshmi J, Lota Shakin Goin On, Bp Apollitical South and Shaunda Got a Prize.
