CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 12, 2019—Coming off a troubled effort in the Grade 1 All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs last month, America Rules got her first career stakes win when she got up at the wire to defeat Double Eagle by a nose in the $19,500 Miss Ellen Stakes at Will Rogers Downs Saturday afternoon. Tempting Annee Gl was a head back in the blanket finish to take third.
Ridden by jockey James Flores, Miss Ellen completed the 350 yards in :17.750 seconds, a 97 speed index over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack into a 5 mph headwind. The $10,692 winner's purse increased her lifetime earnings total to $96,620.
A finalist in the both the Grade 1 All American and Rainbow Derbies at Ruidoso Downs last summer, Miss Ellen races for owner Coke Gage, Jr., and is conditioned by trainer Gerald W. Reed.
Marla K. Robinson Family Trust bred the daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel in Utah from the Strawfly Special mare Allamericandreamgirl. The royally-bred filly is a half-sister to AQHA Racing Champion American Runaway.

Garza Laurel Partnership LLC's multiple stakes winner Tempting Annee Gl fought gamely to earn $1,960 for third. R.L. Rick Robinson trains the Tempting Dash 4-year-old Texas homebred out of Grande Annee by Devon Lane(TB). Mario Delgado had the riding call aboard the filly who was third in the ARC Will Rogers Distaff in her last start September 22. She has banked $96,493.
Eye Eye Captain, Royal Desirio, Olena Sangria an Mystical Jess completed the field.
