Multiple Stakes Winner Kowboy Jim Wins Cheryl White Memorial

FRESNO, CA—OCTOBER 12, 2019—Kowboy Jim raced to his seventh career win on Saturday when he defeated Snowy Coronitas by one-length in the $8,000 Cheryl White Memorial Stakes (not black type) Saturday afternoon at the Fresno County Fair Ground.

Ridden by Hugo Herrera, Kowboy Jim completed the 350 yards in a speedy clocking of :17.731 seconds, equaling a 102 speed index. The winner's purse valued at $4,582 boosted his career mark to nearly $190,000.

Helen Shelley trains the 5-year-old son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty for owner-breeder Dean Frey. The California bred, out of Counting On You by Mr Jess Perry, has compiled a (26) 7-7-5 record. He entered the Cheryl White Memorial off a second-place allowance effort at Los Alamitos October 4.

Multiple stakes winner Snowy Coronitas picked up $1,66 for finishing second. The 7-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Count Corona races for owner Cuadra Mariscal and is trained by Salvador Naranjo. Jesus Arriaga had the riding call aboard the California bred from the This Snow Is Royal mare Snowy Memory .Luis Mariscal is the breeder.

Jesus Daniel Padilla's Baby Special Corona finished a head back to earn $1,000 for third. Martin Arriaga had the riding call aboard the 3-year-old Two Corona Special filly for trainer Felix Gonzalez. Hector Padilla bred the stakes winning filly in California form the Mr Jess Perry mare Da One.

Treacherous and Hy On Corona completed the field.
