Admiral Sting Returns To Form In Grade 3 Two River Stakes

ALTOONA, IA—OCTOBER 12, 2019—Following three off-the-board performances graded stakes winner Admiral Sting returned to form when he held off Eagle Deluxe by a neck in the $50,000 Two Rivers Stakes(G3) Saturday at Prairie Meadows. Htr Miamor Tequila was another head back in the blanket finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Jimmy Brooks, Admiral String completed the classic distance of 440 yards in :21.728 seconds, equaling a 101 speed index into a 15 mph crosswind. It was the seventh career win in 20 starts for the 4-year-old son of leading sire Apollitical Jess.

Racing for owner-breeder Jahree Standrige, the 4-year-old Oklahoma bred, from the Strawfly Special mare Sting Scorpion String, picked up $28,000 to bring his bankroll to $193,535. Earlier this year the sorrel colt won the Mighty Deck Three Stakes(G3) and the Mr Jet Moore Stakes(G2) at Remington Park.

Tom Maher, Bill Maher and Movin On's Eagle Deluxe earned $8,500 for finishing second. Jason Olmstead trains the graded stakes winning son of One Famous Eagle out of Corona Deluxe by Corona Cartel. Bred in Louisiana by Grant Farms LLC, he earned $8,500 for the effort. Berkley Packer was aboard the $162,87 earner.

Third-place finisher Htr Miamor Tequilla races for owner-breeder HTR Stables LLC and is conditioned by trainer Ed Hardy. Eugenio Navarrete, Jr. rode the stakes winning on of Heart Of The Cartel out of the Tinys First Corona mare Sheila Tequilla. He earned $5,000 to bring his earnings total to just under $80,000.

Ms Jess Knockout, Bye Byefreighttrain, Marfilmio, California Blossom, Silver Citizen and Painted Dynasty completed the field.
