BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 8, 2020—Frosted, a 3-year-old son of leading third-crop sire Five Bar Cartel, held off Royal Renegade by a neck to win the $34,740 Louisiana Downs Maiden Stake (not black type) on Saturday at Louisiana Downs. Perfect Profession was another neck back in a blanket finish to get third.
Jockey John Hamilton rode Frosted to his first career win in 10 lifetime starts for owner Gerardo Morales and trainer John Carrillo, Jr. The gray gelding completed the 350 yards in :17.937 seconds into a 10 mph crosswind. The $15,634 winners' purse boosted Frosted earnings mark to $24,279.
Ryan and Danielle Robicheaux bred Frosted in Louisiana from the Ocean Runaway mare Sheza Runaway. Frosted has compiled a (10) 1-3-0 record.
Runner-up Royal Renegade, under jockey Jose Rodriguez, put in game effort to finish second for owner-trainer Alfredo Gomez.

Perfect Professional earned $3,475 for his third-place effort under jockey Antonio Alberto. Josue Ponce conditions the 3-year-old son of world champion Stoli from the Bully Bullion mare Susanna M Salter. David Gutierrez owns the bay colt who was bred by Kathleen and Steve Billings.
Bye The Man In Black, Taylor Made Cartel, Jess For Rogue, Cr Penny Patriot, Shake Em Ike, Mr Copper Wind and Jess Out Of The Blu completed the field.
