EDMONTON, ALB—AUGUST 7, 2020—Timbergold rallied at the top of the stretch then prevailed, under jockey Dwight Lewis, to hold off Double Cruise by a head in the $24,835 Alberta Stallion Stakes Derby Friday at Century Mile.
Winless in 10 starts at 2, Timbergold is now won two straight for owners Joe Halerewich, Jack McCurdy and Greg Campkin. Also trained by Joe, the daughter of leading Canadian sire First Timber has compiled a (12) 2-3-2 record and the $8,395(US) Stallion Stakes winners' purse boosted her bankroll to $28,733.
Bred by Roger Gauthier, from the First Down Dash mare Gilded Gold, Timbergold was second in the Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity, third in the Jerry Stojan Memorial Stakes and a finalist in the Alberta Bred Futurity(RG3) and Canada QH Cup Futurity(G3).

Ivory Fame rallied in deep stretch to finish a nose back in third for owner-breeder Ralph Danard. Kristy Luft trains the son of Ivory League from the Dash Ta Fame mare Rd Taras Fame. Ridden by jockey Trevor Simpson, Ivory Fame earned $1,865(US) for the effort.
Sasses Loki, Yuma Class, First Pulse, Quarter Sawn, Speedy Rae, Rj Fly Bye and First To Clear completed the field.
