There He Is Gone Wins Third Consecutive Race in Northern Plains Futurity Trials at Chippewa

BELCOURT, ND–AUGUST 8, 2020-The recent winner of the NDQHRA Futurity, There He Is Gone returned on Saturday afternoon to win his trial as the fastest qualifier to the Northern Plains Futurity at Chippewa.

There He Is Gone ($2.20) was an easy winner of the second of two trials. The Ima Ramblin On gelding cleared the rest of the field by five lengths and posted the fastest qualifying time of 18.110 in the 350-yard trial. He earned a 92 speed index.

Larren Delorme rode There He Is Gone in the trial for trainer Mallory Norton and owner Steve Leonard. He was bred in North Dakota by Randal Schwartz, out of ND Bunny Jet, by Major Rime.

There He Is Gone also won his trial for the NDQHRA Futurity and was the second fastest qualifier to the final. He broke his maiden in the trial but had made four starts in maiden races at Remington and Fair Meadows earlier this year. The Northern Plains Futurity trial win was his third consecutive victory.

Chickies First Lady, the second fastest qualifier, won the first trial by nearly three lengths over third fastest qualifier Coronas Tnc Whiskey.

Chickies First Lady ($2.80) and jockey Joel Estrada finished in 18.250 to earn an 88 speed index. Bill Geditz trains the Chickie Cherry Cola filly for owner Bryton Dewald. Chickies First Lady was bred in Texas by Sarah Leddy, out of Third copies Yours, by Royal Always.

Chickies First Lady is now undefeated in two career efforts; she broke her maiden at North Dakota in July.

Coronas Tnc Whiskey and Larren Delorme finished in second with a time of 18.650 for trainer Cotey Wilson and owner Darrel Smith, who also bred the Corona Up gelding in North Dakota, out of the Shazoom mare Tko Sassy Zoom.
