CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 17, 2020—Royal Cash Flash, under jockey Jorge Torres, led gate-to-wire while defeating Saratoga Return by half-a-length in the $19,500 Miss Ellen Stakes Saturday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs. Olena Sangria finished another half back to take third.
Conditioned by trainer Clinton Crawford, Royal Cash Flash completed the 350 yards in :17.665 seconds, equaling a 94 speed index into a 17 mph crosswind. It was the first win in five starts this season for the 3-year-old daughter of champion sire First Moonflash. The $11,592 winner's purse boosted the black filly's earnings mark to $79,501.
An Oklahoma-homebred racing for owner-breeder Brenda Reiswig, Royal Cash Flash is out of the Tres Seis mare Seis The Royal Cash. Last season the multiple stakes winner won the Gopher State Futurity at Canterbury Park. She was also a finalist to the Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity and the Canterbury Park QH Derby.
Olena Sangria, a daughter of Dashair, earned $2,125 for third. Juliana Mancillas saddled the chestnut mare for owner Rafael Haros. Makynzie Brown and Robbin Caldwell bred the multiple stakes-placed 5-year-old from Mt Rob This Corona by The Corona. Cody Wainscott had the riding call. She has earned $116,176.
Jazzin Okey, Peves Eagleetta, Ima Special Rob and Sizzling Fajita completed the field.
