Night Fishn Holds To Win Sprint Series Number 3 at Ajax Downs

AJAX, ONT—OCTOBER 19, 2020—Multiple stakes winner Night Fishn held off Jess A Sweet Suprize by a nose in a blanket-finish to the $16,642(US) Sprint Series Number 3 at Ajax Downs Monday. Carneros was head back in third.

Ridden by jockey Ramiro Castillo, Night Fishn completed the 250 yards in :13.284 seconds, equaling a 94 speed index, to pick-up the $6,723(US) winner's purse.

Trainer Dan Giles saddled the Sugarman Perry mare to her seventh career win 22 starts for owner-breeder Mary Schrama. Out of the Fishers Dash mare Fisher Lines, Night FIshn has earned nearly $80,000.

Runner-up Jess A Sweet Suprize races for owner-trainer Craig Spada and was ridden by jockey Cory Spataro. Pattie Marshall and Erin Goings bred the multiple stakes-placed daughter of Sweet First Down form the Spit Curl Jess mare Jess Curl My Prize. The bay filly earned $3,362(US) to bring her earnings total to $39,684.

Carneros, a stakes winning son of two-time champion Prospect To The Top, earned $1,681(US) for finishing third. Jason Pascoe trains the 5-year-old gelding for owner Milena Kwiecien. Stone Chase Stables LLC bred Carneros in Oklahoma from the Valiant Hero mare Cakebread And Thou. Ed Walton had the riding call aboard the $86,325 earner.

Silken Siri, Zoxtobeyou, Chicksdigmymoneybags, Arctic Fame, Five Bar Fandango and Countrys Comic Bac completed the field.

In the day's 2nd race, 10-year-old ONE FAMOUS GLASS won the final start of his career for owners Carol and Jaime Robertson and trainer Bryn Robterson of HIllsburgh. The 2013 Horse of the Year retires to a life of leisure with a career record of 20 wins in 48 races and earnings of over $340,000.
