LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 3, 2021—Racing experience paid off for Dutch Masters III’s homebred Woman Secrets, as the gelding by Separate Secrets scored the most impressive win by a Quarter Horse on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.
Three races for juveniles were contested during the 10-race program with Woman Secrets posting a length victory in a 300-yard dash in a time of :15.638. Woman Secrets had a big lead right out of the gate, leading the way by 1-½ lengths after the first 100 yards.
With no competition in sight, the Jaime Gomez-trainee cruised to the wire under the guidance of the meet’s current leading Quarter Horse rider, Oscar Peinado.

Out of the multiple stakes winner Secret Card, Separate Secrets qualified to both the Governor’s Cup Futurity and the All American Futurity. Woman Secrets’ dam is Brownleggedwoman, who finished third or better in four different major futurity trials (Ruidoso, Rainbow, Dash For Cash and Texas Classic) in 2013. She also ran fourth in her trial to the All American Futurity.
In the two other juvenile races, Juan Humberto Moya’s Apolitical Thunder was much the best in his racing debut, breaking sharply from post number two and then sailing away to a ¾ length win in a 220-yard time of :12.265.
Jorge Corona’s JM Who Knew scored at a medium price of 6-1 after defeating six rivals in a 220-yard time of :12.279. Sired by the World Champion One Dashing Eagle, JM Who Knew was purchased for $12,000 at the Heritage Place Sale. He was bred by Judd and Millie Morse.
A highly respected horseman, Judd Morse passed away last year. JM Who Knew was ridden to victory by Alberto Zepeda for trainer Danny Montes. This is the second juvenile winner of the meet for Zepeda, who rode J. Francisco Diaz’s Mookkie to victory on March 26.
