Fastest Qualifier Classic Dynasty Dash Return For Win In $69,970 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby

ROCK SPRINGS, WY–OCTOBER 1, 2022–Fastest qualifier from the trials Classic Dynasty Dash returns to the $69,970 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby for the win at Sweetwater Downs on Saturday.

Ridden by Jesus Valenzuela, Classic Dynasty Dash flew from the gates and led the 350-yard race from gate-to-wire for a 1/2-length victory over Yo Brindis Delite. The post-time favorite clocked a 104 speed index in :17.381 seconds paying $4.60 for the win on a $2.00 wager.

Conditioned by Riley Moosman, Classic Dynasty Dash has nine career wins, one second and one third from 12 starts, including two stakes victories from his freshman campaign. The $27,988 winner’s share of the purse upped the son of Jr Dynasty Mountain’s earnings to $110,914. 

Breeders Ron and Laurie Moosman also own Classic Dynasty Dash in partnership with Gordon Knudsen. The 3-year-old gelding is out of Steffiesclassic Dash by Winners Version.

Runner-up Yo Brindis Delite, guided by Uriel Dominguez, was saddled by Jesse Villegas. The son of Brindis Por Cayenne has three career wins with $38,187 in earnings, including his most current win earlier this month in the Wyoming Stallion Breeders Derby.

Owned and bred by Gerald Kaul, Yo Brindis Delite is out of Rs Afternoon Delite by Southern Corona.

Trained by Jess Matt, Cayenneoverthemoon, with Shaunda Larsen in the irons, made a late effort for third in the derby. The son of Brindis Por Cayenne  has five career wins with $68,684 in earnings for owner Walter Larson, including the Mixed Wyoming Bred Derby in June. Bred by S Bar S, the three-year-old filly is out of Dashmetothemoon by Apollo (TB).

Completing the order of finish is Fellasapayne, Sb Timetoshine, Diamond Dusting, Eyesa Special Swirl, Cd Gretta Da Great, Jv Pappas Pocketbook and Hes R Dynasty.

The 12th season of live horse racing begins Saturday Aug. 21, and extends through Sunday October 2. Gates open at noon on Saturdays and Sundays with post times set for 1 p.m. Races will also be held on Friday, September 9, and Friday, September 16. Post times for both Fridays is 4 p.m.

Race fans unable to attend live racing in person can place bets at any Horse Palace location and enjoy the latest game additions where a nearly $800,000 jackpot was recently won. The nine locations include two in Casper, two in Cheyenne and one in Evanston, Gillette, Green River, Rock Springs and Sheridan.
