One Perfect Lady Keeps Surprising With Another Upset In The $426,500 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2)

GRANDE PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER 1, 2022–Owner La Feliz Montana Ranch, LLC has to be “feliz" tonight after winning the two grade 2 stakes races on Saturdays card at Lone Star Park.

Trainer Rolando Almanza saddled 2021 champion jockey Francisco Calderon aboard One Perfect Lady for an upset win in the $426,500 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) just shortly after leaving the winner’s circle for The Blues Man’s victory in the Dash For Cash Derby (G2).

After bobbling at the start, One Perfect Lady took lead at first call and kept it to the wire in the 400-yard futurity. Calderon guided her to a length victory over Daddy Caliente in :19.620 seconds clocking a 97 speed index. With 14-1 odds at the post, the longshot who clocked the eighth fastest time in the trials, paid $31.20 to win on a $2.00 wager.

“She left perfect in front. I felt Dean Frey’s filly (All Night Roc) making a move on her half-way there and heard James Flores coming at me and she just put it in another gear. She was on the inside where it was deeper this time and I felt like that had a lot to do with her performance today,” states Francisco Calderon.

One Perfect Lady has lit the board seven of nine starts with five career wins, including the Ruidoso Downs Juvenile Challenge (G3) in August. The $170,600 winner’s share of the Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) purse upped her lifetime earnings to $230,507.
