Fastest Qualifier Hes Bulletproof Returns To Win $45,620 Cricket Bar Futurity

CLAREMORE, OK–OCTOBER 3, 2022–Fastest qualifier Hes Bulletproof fought to a neck win over Bg Cotton Eye Joe in the $45,620 Cricket Bar Futurity at Will Rogers Downs today. Marfil was a neck back in a blanket-finish of the first five horses to take third.

Racing as the post time favorite under jockey Jesus Salazar, Hes Bulletproof completed the 400 yards in :20.343 seconds into a 7 mph crosswind. It was the third consecutive win and second stakes victory for the son of All American Futurity sire Hes Relentless.

Leading trainer Dee Keener saddled the Oklahoma-bred colt for owner-breeder Jeff Adams. Out of R Sassy Corona by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, the Appaloosa 2-year-old earned $18,836 to double his bankroll to $36,528.  He son the  $20,000 Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Juvenile Stakes at Fair Meadows two races back.

Still winless in six starts this season, Bg Cotton Eye Joe earned $9,124 for this second-place effort. Trainer Everardo Escamilla-Gonzalez named jockey Jorge Torres to ride the Idaho-bred son of The Louisiana Cartel for owner Cristian Orona. Becky Grant bred the $11,104 earner from the Geno JJ mare Cmb A Final.

Also a maiden Marfil picked up $7,118 for this third-place effort. Jesus Ruiz trains the daughter of Appaloosa stallion Ivory King for owner Adrian Ruiz. Roman Cruz rode the black filly out of Pana Doll by Real Visions. Racin RNS is the breeder.

Ivory Lil, Dar Reign, Eagles Prey, Game Winner, Shes A Kool Pearl, Allies On Fire and Love Me Some Willie completed the field.
