Q-RACING JOURNAL—MAY 14, 2015—Broodmare Precious Debutante, 18, died May 1 from colic. The mare was a second-generation homebred for Walter “Dick” Harrison of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Sired by Heza Fast Man, Precious Debutante was out of the Liberty Jet Line mare Precious Libby.

Making 23 career starts over three seasons, Precious Debutante won eight of those races, with four seconds and five thirds. She earned $34,836 and had a career-high speed index of 107. She was twice a stakes winner, taking the 1999 Governor’s Stakes at Hoosier Park and 2000 Ring of Roses Derby at Mount Pleasant Meadows. She was also four-times stakes placed, including thirds in the Grade 3 Mt Pleasant Meadows Budweiser Futurity and All American Congress Derby.

Precious Debutante is a half sister to stakes winners Senorita Tres ($140,730), Rosey Rules ($46,212), Rockin Dale ($44,797) and Dashin Doda ($26,465).

From nine starters to date, Precious Debutante has produced eight winners and six stakes winners, and has progeny earnings of $739,420. Precious Debutante is the dam of 10-time stakes winners Fearles Fred ($269,424), Restricted Grade 3-winner Ida Snow Man ($163,879), stakes winners Fast Man Vic ($73,245), Casey Corona ($51,688), Mr Corona To You ($35,826) and Seiswho ($26,517), as well as stakes-placed runner Code 36 ($98,003).

She and her dam are the only mother-daughter pair to appear on the list of all-time broodmares who have produced five or more stakes winners (her dam produced five stakes winners). Precious Debutante was honored as Speedhorse magazine’s co-broodmare of the year in 2011.

She has a 2014 colt by Feature Mr Bojangles named Gogo Jangles, and leaves behind a 2015 foal by Apollitical Jess who is doing well.

This is the immediate family of recent Oklahoma Derby (R) winner Politicaly Correct, who is out of her sister Senorita Tres.
